Back again, plugging my tito’s new project, Pelicola (coming in January next year). Pelicola is more or less the first Internet TV site in the Philippines (UPDATE: described by my tito as a “brain fart” kind of thing), with shows such as Alive at the Womb. Here’s a description of what Alive at the Womb is, from the teaser vid on YouTube:

“Alive at the Womb” is a 20-minute live music recording show shot on Wombworks Studio Marikina (hence the “womb”) and is launching on January 2009 on first Internet Television Site in the Philippines. The show features selected artists performing 3 songs interspersed with inuman session discussions; it’s like seeing the band on- and off-stage.

And here’s the vid itself (watch out for the bass solo in the middle of the song):

Now, remember that date. January 2009.

Firefox Three!

I’d like to take this opportunity to plug Firefox 3, not that it needs much plugging, as one of the best browsers right now. It’s just that Firefox has become so awesome, they’re going for a world record: most downloads in twenty-four hours. Be a part of this–get Firefox now! πŸ˜€

(I may sound like a fanatic, but I just really like how useful Firefox is, especially when you stuff it to the brim with add-ons like I do.)

Get it here, and see how many people have joined the cause too! XD

P.S.: The record time may be over soon, but it doesn’t matter. Firefox is just too good for you to pass up. πŸ˜›

P.P.S.: According to my good buddy Josh, the time ends at around one in the morning on June 19 (for those of us who live in the Philippines). DOWNLOAD NOW!

Among Other Things

So I never got around to doing the summer recap post, or the obligatory back-to-school post, or anything for what, nearly a month? Nothing much that’s new, anyway. Let’s see:

– Spent at least the latter half of my summer loafing around, not surprising (think messed-up sleeping habits, copious amounts of unhealthy midnight snacks, and daily brain damage via computer use)

– Feels like I’m going antisocial again and/or going psychotic, as Wikipedia says:

Psychosis is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a “loss of contact with reality.” People suffering from it are said to be psychotic.

People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and disorganized thinking. This may be accompanied by unusual or bizarre behaviour, as well as difficulty with social interaction and impairment in carrying out the activities of daily living.

– I refuse to give up my time to school so quickly, when my cousins aren’t starting until next week (damn college). Subsequently they come over when I’m home from school to serve as my Guitar Hero victims. Speaking of Guitar Hero:

I’m reasonably sure it’s not fake–it’s ranked here, at any rate.

– In related news, I pretty much got the day off today, since I felt a lot better when I got home (probably the Gatorade).

– Allow me to plug this. Think of it as a return to form, of sorts.

– I seem to be going through an old music phase. Look at my playlist and you’ll understand.

That seems to be just about right, so I’m off to develop unnerving story ideas befitting my self-convinced psychosis get something to eat. Really.

Things To Watch Out For

I’ll do the summer recap post later. In the meantime, I just realized that a lot of stuff is coming up this year (or in the next few months, or even days) that I’m interested in, and just so I don’t forget, I’m going to make a list. Sorry if everything I list seems to be aimed at kids, it’s a “too-lazy-to-think-like-a-grown-up” kind of thing. πŸ˜› Continue reading ‘Things To Watch Out For’

The Roadworthy Man

So, here’s a short blog plug.

If you like or appreciate art, (mostly ancient) history, pop culture, literature, and, uh, WW2-era Germans (you’ll see), check out The Roadworthy Man. The author is currently on what I like to call a posting high, so while it may only be a few days old, there are many posts already up, on a variety of eye-catching topics. There’s even a little humor in there too. Oh, and the author says please comment, lol.

Random Videos

These are worth watching, really. The first one is a Coke ad Joaq showed me, and the other is a spoof off SNL.

Oh, and read this, it’s an article I heard about from Elvis about the emoticon–it’s twenty-five years old. πŸ˜€

Support OPM

I don’t know why–I really, really don’t–but I’m listening to Bamboo again. All the songs posted are from here, so buy the album.

Much Has Been Said:

Peace Man:

Oh, and this:

Escudero: …You always mentioned β€œmy president,” is it because you voted for her or supported her?

JDV3: Ya.

Escudero: Well then she’s not my president on that basis. But it’s more proper to refer to her as β€œthe president.”…

HAHAHA. HAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHA. Makes you wonder what they’re up to over at the Senate. XD

Check the pages every month or so (Egos, Fiction, Musings, Origins), I usually add stuff little by little (with the possible exception of Fiction, which really depends). Oh, and credits to Joaq for the header image.
