The Fine Art of Pugilism

Due to my dad’s insistence that I get some form of physical exercise, I ended up having to take boxing lessons over the Christmas vacation. So, I found myself at Elorde Boxing Gym (the one near Ortigas Home Depot) with my tito, who started taking lessons first, and told my dad about them. I’ve had two boxing lessons so far (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), and I’ll give a short rundown of each time I went to the gym.

First time: Trial session, didn’t have any gloves of my own yet, so I had to use house gloves, which stink like hell because so many people have used them already, got me hands wrapped, did some stretches, learned the stance, some punches and punch combos, was constantly reminded to keep my hands up and close to my face, also learned footwork, then moved to the speedball, which was kinda hard at first, then the punching bag, then the other thing (i don’t know its name, i only know that it’s a leather ball attached to both the ceiling and the floor with elastic ropes), then did some more stretches, which were for the abs, and resulted in me having sore abs for a while. That’s it.

Second time: First real session, brought my own gloves and hand wraps, put wraps on, did stretches again, learned even more punches and combos, learned how to turn, went to the speedball (which was easier than last time), then the punching bag, then the abs stretches, which were even harder than last time, then left. After a while, I was notified that I had forgotten to pay the eleven-lesson fee, and so returned to the gym to pay. That’s all. 😛

Boxing again tomorrow, and I hope it doesn’t make my body sore, because the first two sessions were easy on me. 😛

PS: Has anyone here defeated the dual horn in Chapter 6 of Dirge Of Cerberus? If so, please tell me how, since I want Manaheart really badly.
