Hey, guys. Would you happen to know my friend and relative, Patrick? If not, well, this might remind you. He was the guy I sent a GM once about, asking for prayers (as he had bone cancer). As you can see, I used ‘had’ because as of now, the cancer’s gone (but he has chemotherapy sessions until February, just to make sure that it’s really gone). Why am I posting this? Well, it’s because I saw his YM stat yesterday, which said something along the lines of “I AM NOT GOING TO SPEND XMAS IN THIS BORING HOSPITAL!!!” Perfectly understandable, right? I mean, I wouldn’t want to spend my Christmas in a hospital either, so I hope that Patrick gets to go home for Christmas. Who knows–if you guys hope too, he’ll get an early break from the hospital. 😀

A Diff’rent Kind Of Pressure

Some of you guys might be wondering why I was gone for almost the whole Saturday. Well, the thing is, I went to Anilao, Batangas for scuba diving purposes. So I got up at 4:30 AM to attend the Simbang Gabi, then went back home and got ready for the 3-4 long hour trip to Anilao. We left at around 7 AM, and got there roughly at 11 AM, since my companions on this trip (my parents, my lola and my tito/ninong who was to go scuba diving with me today) stopped over at McDonald’s to catch a bite. I didn’t really notice, since I was catching up on sleep for most of the trip (I was woken up half an hour before we got there, because I had to have my breakfast and a small interval before I went scuba diving). Continue reading ‘A Diff’rent Kind Of Pressure’

Latin 101

Since I’m out of ideas as to what to post, but feel like posting something funny, I’ll post this article from Uncle John’s 4-Ply Bathroom Reader. It starts here.

So you thought Latin was dead? Latin For All Occasions, by Henry Beard, brings it back to life. Here are some excerpts: Continue reading ‘Latin 101’

The Fine Art of Pugilism

Due to my dad’s insistence that I get some form of physical exercise, I ended up having to take boxing lessons over the Christmas vacation. So, I found myself at Elorde Boxing Gym (the one near Ortigas Home Depot) with my tito, who started taking lessons first, and told my dad about them. I’ve had two boxing lessons so far (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), and I’ll give a short rundown of each time I went to the gym. Continue reading ‘The Fine Art of Pugilism’
